The exercise, which took place at Ilesa Garage, Fajuyi Road, Ile-Ife, was part of activities commemorating the 2025 World Hypertension Day. The initiative, which spanned from Monday, 19th May to Thursday, 31st July 2025, aimed to sensitise community members on the importance of knowing vital health indicators such as blood pressure, body weight, waist circumference, height, and body mass index (BMI).

Speaking at the event, Head of the Cardiac Care Unit, Prof Abdul-Razaq Adebayo emphasised that the outreach was part of the hospital’s corporate social responsibility. He stressed the significance of regular health checks, noting that early detection remains key to preventing hypertension-related complications.
“Health is wealth, and we encourage everyone in our community to know their numbers to live healthier lives,” Prof Adebayo said.
The free screening, which held between 8:00 am and 11:00 am, witnessed a significant turnout from residents who expressed appreciation to OAUTHC for the initiative.
