The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, on Friday, 12th September 2025, earned national recognition as it secured a nomination for the prestigious CESVO Hall of Fame by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO). The honor, reserved for institutions that demonstrate outstanding ethical leadership, integrity, and accountability, saw OAUTHC ranked first in the Southwest geo-political zone and third nationwide.
Speaking on the organization’s mission to change the narrative by curbing corrupt practices and institutionalizing ethical leadership across Nigeria, the Executive Director of CESVO, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, explained that the NGO was particularly interested in how the hospital conducts its affairs, especially in stakeholder management and service delivery—areas where OAUTHC has excelled significantly.

He commended the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. John Okeniyi, for his objective and professional guidance, which has kept the hospital’s leadership on track. In recognition of this achievement, Prof. Okeniyi was conferred with the honorific title “Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION)” and decorated as a gold medalist in public administration and management.
Similarly, Certificates of Professional Ethics Compliance were presented to other members of the Top Management Committee as a testament to their collective dedication to integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards in healthcare delivery.
In his remarks of appreciation, Prof. Okeniyi thanked CESVO for the recognition and assured that the certificates awarded to the hospital’s management team would be held in high esteem.

Also speaking on behalf of the Management, the Director of Administration, Dr. Ayodeji Bobade, expressed gratitude to CESVO for the awards and certificates and wished its leadership safe travels back to their various destinations.

As part of the ceremony, the OAUTHC management team also presented gift items to the CESVO leadership.
