In a remarkable effort to enhance healthcare delivery and uphold international standards, the Sarumi family has once again exhibited their unwavering philanthropy by renovating some buildings, as well as fully equipping them with medical equipment, worth millions of naira which were handed over to the Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex.

This generous family had previously made a substantial contribution in 2018, donating a well-equipped medical ward worth 100 million nairas to the same institution. The renovated buildings encompass a female medical ward, a female surgical ward, and a modern laboratory.

The official handing over ceremony took place on Thursday, 25th May, 2023 at the Wesley Guild Hospital Unit of OAUTHC, Ilesa. Distinguished attendees included the Ag. Chief Medical Director, Dr. Afolabi Owojuyigbe; the Director of Administration, Mr. Tajudeen Balogun; the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Adekunle Adeyemo, other directors and esteemed members of the Management team.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Alhaja Sherifat Sarumi and Mrs. Shakirah Sarumi, of the Sarumi family, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Management team and all individuals who contributed to the successful completion of the project. However, the family also urged the management to prioritize the maintenance of the new facilities and emphasized the importance of fostering strong doctor-nurse-patient relationships.

The Ag CMD sincerely thanked the Sarumi family for their unwavering and consistent support. He pledged that the building, facilities, and equipment would be adequately maintained to ensure their longevity. The Sarumi family has been a shining example of dedication to advancing healthcare services, and their contributions will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the welfare of patients and medical professionals at OAUTHC.
