An IFEMED alumnus (1990 set) of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Emergency Physician/Trauma Team Lead at the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Saskatoon, Canada, Dr. Segun Oyedokun, has donated a cardiac defibrillator to the Emergency Medicine Department and the Intensive Care Unit of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife. The presentation took place recently at the office of the Chief Medical Director, OAUTHC, Ile-Ife.

‎Prof. Oluyomi Okunola, representing the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, stated that Dr. Oyedokun strongly supports the hospital, particularly in resuscitation efforts. He emphasized that the donation aims to further enhance patient care and improve treatment outcomes in the Emergency Medicine Department and Intensive Care Unit.

‎A few weeks earlier, Dr. Oyedokun also donated mannequins to support training activities in the Department of Anaesthesia and the Emergency Medicine Department of the hospital.

‎The Chief Medical Director of OAUTHC, Prof. John Okeniyi, who received the equipment on behalf of the hospital management, expressed appreciation to Dr. Oyedokun for his selfless support and generous contribution toward improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes at the hospital.

‎Those present at the presentation included the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Josephine Eniola Eziyi; the Head of the Emergency Medicine Department, Dr. Michael Daramola; and a representative of the Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. Ajibade Ademola.
