Management Appoints New Physician-in-Charge

Dr Olufemi Smith

The Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife has appointed Dr. Olufemi Samuel Smith, a Hospital Consultant from the Chemical Pathology Department, as the Physician-in-Charge of the Wesley Guild Hospital Unit of the institution. The appointment, which is with immediate effect, is for a period of two years at the first instance.

In a letter signed by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Josephine Eziyi, Dr. Smith was charged to see to the effective and prompt delivery of services to patients as well as clients at the unit.

Dr. Smith obtained his MBBS from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso in 2008. He has an M.Sc. in Immunology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2018 and also became a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians the same year.

It is the Management’s firm conviction that with his broad clinical experience as well as his deep commitment to quality service, Dr. Smith has the capabilities to function well in this office and bring further improvement to the hospital.
