In a face-to-face interaction with Dr Adewale Amupitan, who is a member of the IPCU, he said that World Hand Hygiene Day is marked to sensitize healthcare workers on the prevention and spread of infection between patients and healthcare workers. He reiterated the importance of hand washing as it reinforces the theme for this year which is Accelerate action together save lives – clean your hands

He further stated that the use of hand sanitizers and washing hands with water and soap are the most effective ways of controlling the spread of infections.
