The Management of the OAUTHC, Ile-Ife has taken notice of several narratives circulating on social media regarding a viral video titled “Looting from Government Pharmacy in Ile-Ife”. In light of these, it is imperative to provide accurate information.
1. The Management has conducted a comprehensive investigation regarding the viral video and confirmed the following:
• The incident depicted in the video indeed occurred in Ile-Ife.
• The incidence occurred at a private pharmacy and NOT the OAUTHC.
• The people involved in the video are not connected in any way to the OAUTHC.
• Furthermore, the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAN), Osun State Branch, has unequivocally refuted any insinuation that this incident occurred within a government hospital. This is contained in their public statement on the subject matter dated 18th September 2024 signed by their Chairman and Publicity Secretary.
In conclusion, linking the incident or video to the OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, is malevolent.
2. The Management acknowledges the public’s and employees’ concerns and reassures them that patient safety and the integrity of our organization continue to be our top objectives as we work even harder to provide top-notch medical treatment, research, and training.
