Profile: Dr.  Ayodeji Bobade – Director of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ayodeji Felix Bobade has been appointed the substantive Director of Administration of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, effective October 7, 2024. Dr. Bobade brings a wealth of experience and a robust academic background to this pivotal role.

Educational Background

Dr. Bobade earned his Ph.D. in Communication and Media Studies from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, in 2023, following his M.A. in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan in 2016. His academic journey began with a B.A. (Hons) in Mass Communication from the University of Maiduguri in 1988, complemented by foundational education at Loyola College, Ibadan, and New Eden Primary School, Mokola, Ibadan.

Professional Affiliations

He is an Associate member of both the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN), as well as an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence in communication, management and healthcare administration.

Career Highlights

Dr. Bobade’s extensive experience spans over several key administrative roles, primarily at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, where he has served as Deputy Director of Administration (Information and Public Relations) since 2017. His previous roles include Assistant Director Admin (Information) and Chief Admin Officer (Information). Beyond academia, he has held significant positions in various organizations, including:

– Administration Manager at Triumph Medical Centre, Lagos

– Corporate Affairs/Marketing Manager at De Tastee Group

– Corporate Affairs Manager at African Paints (Nig.) Plc

– Admin Officer at Federal Agricultural Coordinating Unit/World Bank, Ibadan

His diverse experience in administration, public relations, and corporate affairs positions him as a strategic leader within the healthcare sector.

Continued Professional Development

Dr. Bobade is dedicated to lifelong learning, having completed various advanced courses, including an Executive Diploma in International Healthcare Administration and training in Digital Communication, Team Management, and Emergency Response. He actively participates in conferences related to health communication and sustainable development.

Looking Ahead

As the new Director of Administration, Dr.  Ayodeji Bobade aims to build on the existing operational efficiencies and foster togetherness within the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex. His service is expected to contribute significantly to the hospital’s mission of providing excellent healthcare services and advancing medical education.
