In a bid to enhance efficient service delivery across all units of the hospital, the Chief Medical Director of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile Ife, inaugurated a new set of Physicians in Charge and Unit Administrators on June 10, 2024, at the hospital’s boardroom.

During his speech, the CMD Prof. John Okeniyi emphasized the necessity of delegating responsibilities to ensure the smooth and successful running of the hospital. He acknowledged that he could not manage all the affairs alone and called upon the newly appointed PICs and UAs to assist in handling the various units effectively. Prof. Okeniyi described the appointments as a call to responsibility, urging the appointees to contribute their best efforts to the hospital’s administration.

Prof. Okeniyi further explained that the new service chiefs would act as MDs within their respective units. Their primary role would be to bring any issues faced by their units to his attention, propose solutions, and ensure efficient operations. He encouraged them to evaluate their unit’s operations, delegate tasks appropriately, and engage with their teams to foster development.
