Calls for greater support for vulnerable groups and improved healthcare delivery

In a renewed demonstration of compassion and commitment to humanitarian service, Love Foundation International has donated a total sum of N1,963,000 (One million, nine hundred and sixty-three thousand naira) to support indigent patients with critical medical conditions.

The donation, which targeted some of the most vulnerable in-patients, was aimed at offsetting hospital bills, purchasing essential drugs, and covering other medical expenses. Of the total amount, N1,413,000 was paid directly into the hospital’s account for patients’ bills, while N550,000 was disbursed to beneficiaries to procure prescribed medications.

Speaking during the presentation, the Co-founder of the organisation, Dr. Femi Omidire, said the initiative was driven by a deep sense of compassion and a longstanding commitment to giving back to society. He explained that Love Foundation International was established to cater to the needs of the less privileged, including orphans, widows, and widowers, across Nigeria and the United States, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Dr. Omidire noted that the organisation places strong emphasis on children’s welfare and well-being, adding that it has consistently impacted lives over the past 17 years through periodic payment of hospital bills for both children and adults, support for orphanage homes, and other charitable interventions.

While calling on well-meaning Nigerians to support humanitarian causes, he stressed that collective efforts were necessary to address the growing needs of vulnerable populations. He also urged government at all levels to prioritise the healthcare sector in order to enhance service delivery and accessibility.

“My co-founder, Prince Adeyinka Ogunleye, and I share the same passion for giving. We believe that true happiness lies in giving, and we will continue to support those in need,” he said.

Reflecting on the essence of humanitarian service, Dr. Omidire added, “The clock is ticking. Each day brings us closer to the end of life, and we must remain mindful of the need to make meaningful impact while we can.”

Responding, parents and relatives of the beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. They noted that the financial support would significantly ease their burden and offered prayers for continued success, provision, and protection for the foundation’s founders and partners.

The Phase 4 Unit Administrator, Mr. Sunday Oke, who led the foundation’s team on a tour of the hospital wards, commended the initiative, noting that such interventions play a vital role in supporting healthcare delivery, particularly for indigent patients.

Love Foundation International is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to alleviating the burden of indigent children, with a focus on supporting homeless children, providing access to primary school education through scholarships, and championing other noble causes within the community.
