The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, in collaboration with Custodian Life Assurance Limited, organized a comprehensive and enlightening one-day sensitization workshop for retirees at the small auditorium of the hospital on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
This workshop was meticulously designed to serve as a guiding beacon for retirees, equipping them with the necessary tools and insights to navigate the transition into life after active service. Prince Adebola Adegbuyi, the Regional Manager of Custodian Life Assurance Limited, graced the occasion as the guest lecturer. In his enlightening discourse, he shed light on the pivotal role of Custodian Life Assurance Limited – established in 1956 – in helping retirees plan for life post-retirement.
The workshop drew participation from a diverse audience comprising retired members of the hospital’s staff and individuals on the cusp of retirement. The Regional Manager of Custodian Life Assurance Limited expressed heartfelt appreciation to the hospital’s management for the privilege extended to the organization to impart invaluable knowledge and insights to the attendees.
The focal point of the sensitization lecture revolved around indispensable tips for achieving a fulfilled and contented retirement. These included practical advice such as the importance of considering options like applying for a Retiree life annuity or program withdrawal. Additionally, the guest lecturer emphasized the significance of proactive measures even prior to retirement, urging retirees to proactively engage with their pension fund administrators, diligently monitor their Retirement Savings Account (RSA) statements, exercise prudent financial management, prioritize a healthy lifestyle, astutely manage windfalls, and explore avenues for investment in family, retirement business, or profession.
