The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex recently hosted an Iftar for the Muslim community, fostering interfaith harmony and highlighting the importance of religious values. The event, which brought together executives of the Muslim community within the hospital and the Management team was a testament to the Management’s commitment to fostering a sense of inclusivity and respect for diverse religious practices.

During the Iftar, Chief Medical Director, Prof. John Okeniyi, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between religions and the shared virtues they uphold. He stressed the need for mutual understanding and respect, underscoring the unifying power of faith in promoting a harmonious society. He urged the Muslim community to continue to practice righteousness even after Ramadan concludes, highlighting the enduring values of faith that extend beyond the holy month.


The Chairman of the OAUTHC Muslim Community, Dr. Waheed Ismail and the Imam of the community Dr. Ibrahim Bello on behalf of executives expressed their gratitude to the Management for hosting the Iftar, recognizing the gesture as a demonstration of inclusivity and respect for the Muslim ummah.
