The Muslim community of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex held its annual Ramadan lecture, bringing together members of the Muslim Ummah for a day of reflection and spiritual enrichment. The event, which is a yearly tradition, provides a platform for community members to engage in religious discourse and strengthen their faith during the holy month of Ramadan.

Prof. John Okeniyi, the Chief Medical Director of OAUTHC, made a special appearance at the lecture, marking the first time a CMD has attended this annual event. He expressed his appreciation for the Muslim community and encouraged them to use the holy month as a time for positive reflection. Prof. Okeniyi also announced plans to host an Iftar (breaking of the fast) with the Muslim community’s executives on March 20th, commemorating his one year and six months in office.

The lecture, delivered by a prominent Islamic scholar, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Abidoye focused on Maximising the full benefits of dua & ruqya in the holy month of Ramadan & beyond. Attendees were encouraged to reflect on the message and its relevance to their daily lives, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. The event also included prayers, recitations from the Quran, and other spiritual activities.
