OAUTHC’s CMD Statement on World Social Work Day

Dear Staff, Patients, and the Entire Hospital Community of OAUTHC, Ile-Ife,

On this 2025 World Social Work Day, we come together to celebrate an essential pillar of our healthcare and societal fabric: our social workers.

This year’s theme, “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing,” is a call to action for us all to nurture mutual respect and care across generations, to uphold the environment, and to share wisdom for a brighter and more compassionate future.

Social workers are unsung heroes who tirelessly advocate for justice, provide support during crises, and ensure that every voice is heard and valued.

Today, let us take a moment to recognize their vital contributions within and beyond our hospital community.

To the staff, let’s honor our social workers by amplifying their achievements and promoting their invaluable work.

To our patients, let this day remind us all of the interconnectedness that binds generations together as we work towards enduring well-being.

Join us in celebrating this day with gratitude and renewed commitment to fostering solidarity and respect across all ages. Together, we build stronger, more resilient communities.
