The School of Health Information Management (SHIM), Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, recorded a notable milestone on Thursday, 30th April, 2026, as it matriculated ninety-one (91) students into its National Diploma program.

In his welcome address, the Acting Head of the School, Mr. Kehinde Adeniregun, expressed gratitude to the hospital management for its sustained support toward the growth of the institution. He particularly highlighted the recent repair of the school bus and the provision of a driver, which have significantly improved student mobility.

He cautioned against unethical behaviours such as bullying and sexual harassment, urging students to maintain integrity in all their interactions within the hospital environment.

The event also featured a guest lecture titled “The Role of Health Information Managers in Public Health Context,” delivered by Dr. Folasade Adediran. She underscored the critical role of health information managers as custodians of sensitive data, noting that confidentiality remains a cornerstone of the profession. She encouraged the students to serve as worthy ambassadors of the school.
