The Pediatrics Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, has received another philanthropic gesture from the House of Oodua. Olori Mariam Anako Ogunwusi donated essential medical equipment to support neonatal healthcare services at the hospital.

The donated items include a Hematocrit Centrifuge, Baby Incubator, Manual Suction Machine, Electric Suction Machine, Resuscitation Equipment Kits, Microscope, Jaundice Meter, Digital Baby Scales, Wall Fans, and Adult Chairs. These contributions aim to improve the quality of healthcare for newborns and provide better support for their families.

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. John A.O. Okeniyi, expressed his profound gratitude for the timely donation, which coincided with the department’s accreditation. He commended Olori Ogunwusi for her generosity and significant contributions, urging other well-meaning individuals to emulate her noble gesture.

In her remarks, Olori Ogunwusi applauded the CMD for his proactive and responsive leadership in addressing the hospital’s needs. She emphasized that the act of giving was inspired by the passion of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), who remains committed to extending love and care to his people while supporting comprehensive healthcare delivery at the hospital.

The event was attended by several principal officers of the hospital, including Matron Olabisi Ajayi (Director, Nursing Services), Mrs Foluke Fola Alao (Director, Finance and Accounts), Dr. Tade Ijarotimi (Physician-in-Charge, IHU), Prof. Perpetua Obiajunwa (Head, Pediatrics Department), Mr. Adewale Junaid (Head, Internal Audit), Mr. Abiodun Eluyemi (Head, Procurement), and various heads of departments.
