The Pharmacy Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), organized a sendoff ceremony for one of its Deputy Directors, Pharm. Adewale Sunday Adeniyi, whom has worked effortlessly and diligently throughout his career at OAUTHC on 10th August, 2026.

Pharm. Adeniyi was employed as Pharmacist Grade I on 10th May 1999. He was posted to Pharmacy Shop, where he demonstrated diligence, professionalism and commitment to quality pharmaceutical care.
He served at various levels in the department and different units of the Hospital including Pharmacy Shop, Main Pharmacy and Casualty Pharmacy at the Wesley Guild Hospital Unit. He also served as the Unit Head of Central Drug Pharmacy and finally Sectional Head of the Casualty Pharmacy, bringing a close to an outstanding career marked by dedication, integrity and selfless service.

The Director, Pharmaceutical services, Pharm. Victor Adefiwitan, in his opening speech appreciated God’s faithfulness in the life of the celebrant because of his uniqueness, commitment and diligence to the profession, “Not mincing words, he is a man of valour, which the Pharmacy department will forever miss” he reiterated.

The event ended with goodwill messages from professional colleagues, friends and well wishers. He was described as a man, who is worthy of emulation in all ramifications. They wished him successful retirement while highlighting his contributions as a mentor to younger professional colleagues for quality pharmaceutical care.
