The Student Union Government of the School of Health Information Management commenced her health week with a symposium titled The Technological Advancement and their Impacts on Health Information Management on Monday, 8th May 2023 at the big auditorium of the hospital.

In his address, the Ag. Chief Medical Director, represented by the Ag.Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Adekunle Adeyemo emphasized the importance of technological advancement in the health sector. He expressed his joy over the school’s success and fruitfulness so far, and the support of parents and tutors.

The Principal of, the School of Health Information Management, Mr Akingbola Omokanye, stated that the theme for this year’s health week is MEGALOIS, meaning, growth, he further declared that the reason behind the health week is to celebrate the success the institution achieved over the years and allow students come together to share some moment to brainstorm and proffer ideas for solutions to some of the aspects of Healthcare Delivery Services through carefully selected theme and topics for the week.

The Guest Speaker, Dr. Michael Adeojo spoke on the past, present, and future of health information management, and ways advancement in technology has affected every sector, including health information management, he enjoined the students to improve themselves by getting familiar with the modern systems of health information management, and technologies generally. Also to be creative and innovative, using their talents to bring advancement to the world of health information management.

As a show of appreciation, the student body gave an award of excellence to the guest speaker, Dr Michael Adeojo, the principal, SHIM, Mr Akingbola Omokanye, and also recognised some outstanding students with certificates of excellence.
