The Senior Staff Association of Universities Teaching Hospital Research Institution and Associated Institution (SSAUTHRIAI) had its quarterly meeting at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, today, 26th April 2023.
The Acting Chief Medical Director, Dr. Muyiwa Owojuyigbe, declared the meeting open with commendations to the association for being a dependable ally in providing quality healthcare services to Nigerians and charging all health professionals to continue working collectively towards the common goal of providing quality healthcare services to patients.
He further assured the union of the Management’s commitment to consider their demands in ensuring better staff welfare. He urged them to take advantage of the meeting to share experiences, ideas and best practices towards advancing the quality of healthcare services in Nigeria. He then conclusively thanked the SSAUTHRIAI for their tremendous support since he assumed office as the acting CMD.
The branch chairman of the SSAUTHRIAI, Comrade Abdul Lateef Adeyeni, affirmed that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss some issues affecting their members and to provide solutions to their challenges. He lauded the hospital’s Management for their support, especially regarding staff welfare and rapid infrastructural development across the hospital. Comrade Fidelis Ogubor, the vice president of SSAUTHRIAI, expressed his profound gratitude for the support the institution’s management, especially the CMD, has given the union to move the institution forward. While the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, represented by Dr. Oluyomi Ayodele commended the association for their commitment to supporting the management at this crucial time.
The Ag.CMD Dr. Muyiwa Owojuyigbe, alongside the two past chairpersons of the SSAUTHRIAI, Comrade Tajudeen Oyetunji and Comrade Kayode Adepoju, was honored with an award of excellence. The union’s Vice President stated that the award given to the CMD was to honor him for his commitment to serving humanity in a higher capacity.
