The Chief Medical Director, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, OAUTHC, Prof John Okeniyi joined the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023 in the unveiling and commissioning of the Female Surgical and Female Medical wards and the Laboratory building projects donated by the Sarumi family to the Wesley Guild Hospital Unit of OAUTHC at Ilesa in honour of their mother Alhaja Wasilat Olabisi Sarumi.
Governor Obaseki, who did the cutting of the tape and unveiling of the commemorate plaque of the buildings, commended the family for giving back to their community and called on the younger generation to follow suit.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Medical Director alongside the Management team paid a courtesy visit to the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Dr Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II at his palace.
While at the palace, Professor Okeniyi sought blessings from the throne and solicited the support of the traditional ruler and that of the entire Ijesa indigenes.
He further pledged his support to ensure the Geriatric Centre is of international standard to meet the needs of the elderly in the land.
In response, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland urged the Management to start work on the new site donated to the hospital for a Renal Centre to enable meaningful sons and daughters of the land to intervene and provide support in completing the project.
MEETING WITH UNIT HEADS
Meanwhile, at a meeting held with the Unit Heads of the Hospital Unit, Prof John Okeniyi addressed major issues raised by all the Unit Heads in the meeting promising to work on them.
The CMD, in a bid to improve quality health services and curb excesses, urged members of staff to acquaint themselves with the Public Service Rules (PSR) so as not to be made to face disciplinary actions.
He emphasized that his administration will be keen on staff discipline and the digitization of health records.
He further called on staff members to imbibe the Whistle-blowing policy to fish out the bad eggs in the hospital.
