A notable chapter concludes as Mrs. Mary Bifarin, Director of Nursing Services, bids farewell to her distinguished career, gracefully retiring from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife.

The Department of Nursing Services celebrated this occasion on November 30, 2023, at the Nightingale Hall, marking Mrs. Bifarin’s well-deserved retirement.Commencing her nursing journey in 1990 as a staff nurse, Mrs. Bifarin’s career was characterized by unwavering commitment, leading her to the position of Director of Nursing Services in Janurary 2021.

The valedictory speech by Dr. Mrs. Abiola Komolafe focused on “Leadership in Healthcare,” emphasizing the influence, inspiration, and empathy integral to effective healthcare leadership.

Representing the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Akinwumi Komolafe highlighted Mrs. Bifarin’s commitment and leadership skills, acknowledging her significant contributions.

Mrs. Peju Laoogun, Director of Nursing Services, Osun State Chapter, praised Mrs. Bifarin’s remarkable career and emphasized her invaluable contributions to the healthcare system, foreseeing a positive impact on future nurses.

In a significant transition, Mrs. Bifarin’s successor, Mrs. Olabisi Ajayi, expressed gratitude for the groundwork laid by her predecessor, pledging to uphold the legacy of excellence in nursing services.

As Mrs. Bifarin steps into retirement, her compassionate and dedicated leadership leaves an enduring legacy, shaping the future of nursing and healthcare.
